About Wendy

Wendy Sawatzky’s imagery marries lo-fi and high-tech, combining vintage and obsolete equipment with digital technology and alternative printing methods.

Her work includes stereograms and photograms, cyanotypes and cinemagraphs, anaglyphs and gifs. She experiments with Victorian magic-lantern techniques, lomography and iphoneography.

Moving images created from archival photographs of Dr. T.G. and Lillian Hamilton's investigations of psychic phenomena in their Winnipeg home between 1918 and 1945, projected overnight on the museum's windows.
